Reaction of OPD+H2O2 with Mb/Citrate Catalyst in DMSO

  • Today, we are going back to running this reaction by dissolving the reactants, not suspending them. The same procedure will be followed as in previous reactions, just with DMSO as a solvent.

Data:

The DMSO froze at 5°C. The graph indicated no absorbance at the final time point.

All of the reactions did not have as high of absorbances as Mb/Citrate in other solvents. There was also no defined peaks at 420 or 460 nm, as seen previously. Instead, the initial peak is at 400 nm, and that declines over the time interval. The curves are also not smooth, as compared to previous reactions. The same dip in the graph, seen just over 650 nm, was also seen yesterday when running the same reaction in suspension.

Reaction of OPD+H2O2 with Mb/Phosphate Catalyst in DMSO

Due to the DMSO freezing at 5°C, the reaction was only run at 25°C, 35°C, and 45°C.
