**During my time as a Ph.D. student, I developed and tested protocols for growing deuterium-rich bacteria to be able to perform deuterium NMR measurements in whole cells. I also tested the changes in the <sup>2</sup>H NMR spectra of ''E. coli'' and ''B. subtilis '' in the presence of Antimicrobial peptides. Finally, I compared the <sup>2</sup>H NMR spectra of ''B. subtilis'' with intact and compromised peptidoglycan layers.

Thesis title: Interaction of Antimicrobial Peptides with the Gram Positive and Gram Negative Cell Envelope
Supervisor: Valerie Booth. Co-Supervisor: Michael Morrow

    • During my time as a Ph.D. student, I developed and tested protocols for growing deuterium-rich bacteria to be able to perform deuterium NMR measurements in whole cells. I also tested the changes in the 2H NMR spectra of E. coli and B. subtilis in the presence of Antimicrobial peptides. Finally, I compared the 2H NMR spectra of B. subtilis with intact and compromised peptidoglycan layers.
