Bovine serum albumin (BSA) was found to form nanoparticles with gold (Au). BSA acts as a reducing agent by converting Au (III) into Au (0). When heated, BSA unfolds and the amino acid, cysteine, reacts with the hydrogen bonds of chloroauric acid, HAuCl<sub>4</sub>. AuNPs in BSA were synthesized at a variety of mole ratios and serve as the platform for the rest of the reactions and experiments conducted
