===Please briefly describe any previous laboratory experience===
I worked at MDS Analytical Technologies optimizing a biochemical assay for phosphodiesterase inhibition in my senior year of high school. Since then, I worked in Thomas Schwartz's structural biology lab here at MIT from June 2009 until February 2010. The project was to investigate the structure of the nuclear pore complex using a recombinant protein expression system in E. Coli with vectors containing S. cerevisiae genes of interest.
===Anything else you would like us to know?===
I am excited to expand my working knowledge and laboratory skills. Getting a hands on experience with these projects is what I looked forward to most when I came to MIT.
===Commitment to academic integrity===
