Topic/Title

  • Automated bioinformatic discovery: tools that tell you what you should know

Abstract

Work in progress - jotting down ideas to expand on

  • Bioinformatics tools exist as tools to retrieve biological information from available databases and process that information directly based on the initial query. (Pull tools - TK)
  • An approach that should be useful would be to have the tool work for the user by analyzing the query and retrieve information directly and indirectly related to the initial user input. Therefore, the tool would be providing information that may become useful to the user which was initially unaware of.
  • Annotation on wiki (Think how this could be merged into this).
  • Think about which biological data to focus on (DNA, Proteins, etc).
    • François mentioned his interest in proteins, namely fluorescence proteins.
