Objective

The objective for this experiment is to prepare gold and silver nanoparticles using whey, casein*, soy*, pea protein, and brown rice protein.

  • Soy and casein are available already in lab.

Materials

  1. whey isolate
  2. soy isolate
  3. casein
  4. pea protein
  5. rice protein
  6. fructose

Procedure

  • Gold Nanoparticles

Procedure to make the gold nanoparticles was similar as the one detailed in Dr. Hartings' notebook with the only difference that we will use nutritional proteins instead of lysozyme, and change the ratio as well.

  • Silver nanoparticles

Results

  • Proteins ordered had not arrived yet. Reaction samples were not set up.
