Kate Broadbent

  • Major: Biological Engineering
  • Minors: Management / Latin American Studies

Extracurriculars

  • Horses, horses, horses! I brought my favorite horse 'Evian' with me to MIT: MIT Spectrum article about my riding / MIT Equestrian Team website.
  • I spent the best 3 months of my life on a NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) semester: backpacking and rock climbing in Arizona, and sea kayaking and sailing in British Columbia.



Research Interests

  • I worked in the Endy Lab on MIT's 2006 iGEM team
    • Let me know if you want to talk about the project or my experience
  • I am a 2007 Department of Homeland Security DHS Scholar
    • This summer I will be interning at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory LLNL
  • I am currently interested in infectious disease research, especially in the study of microbial pathogens and pathophysiology.
