As Paul Klimov suggested, allow students to begin using the oscilloscope on the very first day of classes. It turns out it takes longer than 3 hours to really get accustomed to the oscilloscope. This should work very well and can also be combined with getting accustomed to the wiki.

Also, can give the "chalk talk" stuff on the first day, so people do not have to be interrupted during the lab session (Chad McCoy suggestion).

Darrell Bonn suggestion: The only improvement to this lab from my standpoint would be to put more emphasis on math functions and storing wave forms. These would need a few introductory comments on how to save and recall a wave form as punching buttons till you get it is a bit slow for the time alloted.
