The PVA with clay was then centrifuged at 13200 RPM for three minutes to try and get any bubbles out of the mixture before added it to the %10 HCL and acetone solution. The results were the same. Oct 29- PVA + Clay beads
ObjectiveAttempt to create beads using the PVA with clay and cross linking it with 10% HCl suspended in acetone. NotesPVA with clay was mixed using the procedure from Aug 27 Weights
After the PVA with clay was mixed and cooled to room temperature 0.50 mL of glutaraldehyde was added. This mixture was then added drop wise to a burette that was filled with a solution of 20 mL %10 HCl and 60 mL of acetone (1:3 ratio). As shown in the following video My Chemistry Movie it was observed that the PVA with clay created fibers while cascading down the burette.
