Phenotyping in grapevine

  • Context: under the deluge of high-throughput sequencing technologies, it is now more and more obvious that genotyping is not an issue anymore (as long as we have money). However, this can't be said for phenotyping.
  • Experimental phenotyping: for measures obtained when (somehow) controlling the environment (e.g. in the lab)
  • Observational phenotyping: for measures obtained in real conditions (e.g. in vineyards)
    • tools: NIRS (see review by Teixera Dos Stanos et al 2013), VineRobot, multi-spectral imagery (see work by J. Tardáguila), SmartGrappe, fluorimeters from ForceA
