Xinmei Feng

Xinmei Feng earned her Ph.D in Food Microbiology in the Department of Microbiology, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. She was working with interactions of Rhizopus Oligosporus, yeasts and lactic acid bacteria in barley tempeh fermentation.

Currently she is a postdoc in Stefan's group, working with links between microbial community composition and function in biogas reactors, a collaboration project with the Department of Water and Environmental studies, Linköping University. In this project, she used molecular methods such as real-time PCR, T-RFLP, cloning and sequencing to investigate the archaeal and bacterial community composition in biogas reactors and further correlate the community composition with the performance of the reactors in terms of methane production.
