I am a 4th year PhD student in the [http://sysbiophd.med.harvard.edu Systems Biology Graduate Program] at Harvard, working on biofuels and mRNA metabolism.  Prior to Harvard, I attended the [http://www1.technion.ac.il/_root/index.html Technion Institute of Technology] where I majored in Biotechnology Engineering (B.Sc.) while meeting great friends along the way.  I grew up in the sunny country of Israel, and also spent a few childhood years here in the states.  Outside of lab, I like traveling and playing sports, particularly basketball, tennnis, gym, and skiing.  And although I don't cook, I love eating (all the time).

== Research Interests ==
'''Synthetic Biology'''
I'm interested in using synthetic biology to engineer biosystems with a useful applications.  Previously, I harnessed industrially robust microbes to produce energy.  This project consisted of engineering a system of both yeast and ''E. coli'' that is capable of producing hydrogen from a sugar input.

'''Systems-level understanding of mRNA metabolism'''
mRNA processing is a fundamental aspect of cell biology, yet its regulation is still not well understood.  I am taking single molecule imaging approach to answer central questions within this field.
