Week 7 Feedback

Week 3 Feedback

Thank you for submitting your assignment on time. Your definitions and outline were complete. In the future, please either put your citations next to the individual definitions or use in text citations to refer to the citations in the references list. Also, please add the DOI to the citation style for journal articles. Because Google Scholar does not provide them automatically, you will need to get them from the article website or PubMed.

Did our discussion in class clear up what the Northern analysis was about? If not, please let me know.

I reviewed the updates to your Week 1 Assignment. All of the requested changes were made on time. You wrote something in the summary field for 48 of the last 50 contributions, excellent work!

Week 1 Feedback

  • Thank you for submitting your journal entries on time.
  • You completed all the tasks in the assignment, except for the following:
    • You wrote something in the summary field 30 out of 39 times on your user page (77%). That is pretty good, but we are aiming for 100%.
    • You used the wrong wiki syntax for a link to an external site. Remember link to an internal site on the OpenWetWare wiki use double square brackets and links to external sites use single square brackets.
    • You added the category to your user page directly, instead of to your template.
    • Your template was not invoked on your user page. As discussed in class today, you should make a list on your template of all the course assignment pages, your individual journal entries, the shared class entries, and a link to your User page, as well as the category, mentioned above.
    • The link from your user page to the shared journal was missing because you did not invoke your template on your user page.
    • Don't forget to sign your academic honesty statement with your wiki signature.
    • A references section is required for all individual journal entries, with a citation to the assignment page if no others are needed.
  • You can make up the points you lost on this assignment by completing these requested changes by the Week 3 deadline, midnight Feb. 2.
  • I'm glad the Stewart reading changed your mind about being a mathematician!

Cameron:

That's a big question, and sadly the real answer is "it depends." The nature and magnitude of the stressor is key. For the most part, the answer is "yes," biological systems do tend to respond to stresses. Think of your own heartrate at rest as opposed to sprinting or your physiological response to standing in a walk-in freezer without a coat.
