re: template, ok cheers Reshma, John

  • Jennyn 09:42, 10 March 2006 (EST): You were? Nothing went wrong, just adding icons to the news bar. No worries! :)

Ontology Development

Hey Reshma,

No worries. I added those links to Semantic Web/Ontology development I was referring to yesterday. See you later today at the Systems Biology theory lunch.

iCampus Proposal

Thanks for enforcing/fixing the document/discussion thing on the iCampus proposal. --Sri Kosuri 16:23, 8 Nov 2005 (EST)

Janitorial work

  • yeem 01:21, 11 April 2006 (EDT): Hey Reshma, I'd appreciate it if you'd delete User:Yeem/Mod 1 lab report/Figuress as a typo (has since been moved), and move Image:Fig1.png to Image:YeemMod1Fig1.png. Thanks!
    • RS 08:26, 12 April 2006 (EDT): I deleted the page for you. As for moving the figure. Reupload it to the new name that you would like then we can delete the old one. (I don't think you can move images as easily as you can move pages).
      • Uploaded again. Thanks! yeem 22:00, 12 April 2006 (EDT)

Templates

  • yeem 21:32, 8 June 2006 (EDT) Does Calendar:Template need the {{this is a template}} and full protection treatment too?
    • RS 16:39, 9 June 2006 (EDT): Not sure that the Calendar template gets as much traffic so it may not.

Reserving Room in Stata

  • Jennyn 09:11, 18 June 2006 (EDT): Hey Reshma, how do I reserve a room in Stata to hold a Standardization Protocol meeting?
  • Jennyn 10:16, 19 June 2006 (EDT): Yes, we'll want the same room. I'm going to poll for what day works best and we'll go from there. Thanks!
  • Jennyn 15:48, 21 June 2006 (EDT): Is it too late to reserve 32-262 for tomorrow at noon? If so, let's go for July 6th, 12-1 --which would be great also because then people have a little more time to dream about protocol submission.

OWW Letter of Support..

  • Karthik 11:16, 5 July 2006 (EDT):I e-mailed you our letter of support for OWW yesterday.. Pls revert on that. Regards..

Thanks for your suggestion concerning titles of subfiles in lab pages ([Richard_Lab]). I'm new at this and trying to cut down on oversights! Hala

Questions on Editing

Merry 21:49, 16 December 2006 (EST) Found the answer! (see below) Reset my preferences and all is well.

Merry 19:28, 16 December 2006 (EST) Hello, Reshma. My first question as a new member finding my way around OWW. I am working in the HST time zone which is GMT-10 which is 5 hours earlier than EST. When I sign a page such as this one, the date/time stamp shows the correct EST. On my own History page (User:Merry), the times are odd. Specifically, they are 2 hours earlier than my local time. 7 hours earlier than EST. Any ideas as to how I might tweak this to show the correct info? Thanks.

recent discussions

Cool... thanks for implementing that. I think it will be super useful.

Sri

Thanks

Maureen 14:46, 5 April 2007 (EDT) Hi Reshma. I started teaching the course I set up with your template--it's terrific. I'm hoping that the students will like OWW so much that they will adopt or evangelize for its use elsewhere on campus. We'll see if this is effective way to get other labs here to use OWW.

Regarding iCODONS

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. Well I was also thinking that it is not possible for me to maintain two accounts due to time constraints so I will prefer to stay with my named account Abhishektiwari and like to remove the iCODONS as it is already a section of Abhishektiwari. Actually I created iCODONS account for group activity but the group has already established forum board and members are not interested to move on OWW. Regarding copyright thing I am always open minded and to avoid any further confusion I will prefer to remove those copyright notices.~~Abhishek Tiwari

Notes from class. How many people do you know who can LaTeX on the fly? :)
Also, Image:Limit2small.jpg is orphaned now, can you delete it for me please? yeem 15:15, 16 March 2006 (EST)

kickboxing, eh?

  • Jennyn 15:37, 2 May 2006 (EDT): Just noticed that your new hobby is kickboxing. Have you considered joining the Group Fitness classes? HoHo teaches the Cardio Kickboxing classes there, and I'll be teaching Vinyasa Yoga and Mat Pilates.

OWW presentation on June 12?

This sounds really interesting, and I probably can make time (though it falls in the general period of my thesis defense). I am confident that I am be able to introduce OWW (if you (or Jason) would be willing to supply me with his powerpoint slides - even better), however I am not sure about what iGem (just briefly scanning the iGem-wiki, I did not immediately get it - maybe because I only have a vague, outsider's understanding of synthetic biology), my prospective audience (teachers? at high school level?) or the relevance of OWW to the first two really is...  :) If all that does not worry you too much, I would probably be willing to give it a shot. Lab pages

  • yeem 13:28, 13 June 2006 (EDT): Hey Reshma! Just wondering how we should be dealing with lab pages, specifically their naming. For instance, links to our useful information., which does not specify the name of the lab and includes an extraneous period. Should we be encouraging people to name their pages according to some convention? I noticed the Endy lab likes to prepend their articles with Endy:blahblahblah. That's all...take care Reshma!
    • RS 14:13, 13 June 2006 (EDT): Hey Mike, yeah there are naming conventions in OWW but they haven't been well-documented or well-enforced. (It usually is just simply, LabName:Page Name). I put this issue on the schedule for the steering committee meeting because with the influx of new users from the Nature article, it's an issue. We'll discuss it there. One option is to make a page on it so that people have a place to go read about the topic (at a minimum).
      • 'yeem 15:54, 13 June 2006 (EDT)' Alright, I'll see what I can do for a naming conventions page later. I'll probably hold off until after the meeting. Thanks for your advice! yeem 15:54, 13 June 2006 (EDT)
