Hi Jim,
I guess we didn't realize you were making all the edits yourself.  Sorry for the misunderstanding...
As for the homepage, I don't know quite what you mean.  You're "home page", or the first page you start on when you login to openwetware, can be set in your user preferences under the "Misc" tab under the heading "Default main page".  In that box, put the name of the page such as "Streptomyces".
Your user page ( http://openwetware.org/wiki/User:Streptomyces ) is meant to be a place where you describe yourself and/or put things that are useful to you.  For example, my page ( http://openwetware.org/wiki/User:Skosuri ) redirects to the following page ( http://openwetware.org/wiki/Sriram_Kosuri ).  You can redirect any page on OWW to any other page by putting the following code as the only text
<nowiki>
#redirect [[pagename]]
</nowiki>
Also, two things that you may want to know.
#Your dewikified page is at http://streptomyces.openwetware.org/ This page is automatically stripped from your openwetware pages that are marked by Streptomyces:... it is updated automatically every day, and can be manually refreshed by placing an x after the url (http://streptomyces.openwetware.org/x)
#Recent changes can be customized to be specifically for streptomyces by going to the following page: http://openwetware.org/wiki/Special:Recentchanges/Streptomyces

welcome

Hi there, Jim, and welcome to OpenWetWare! We hope you find it to your liking. Here's a couple links you might find useful:

Also, please be aware that there is a policy that each user must have his or her own account. We ask this so that individual edits can be traced back to some particular person. We find that people are more comfortable when they know a real person is behind every account. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page. Good luck!

You can redirect any page on OWW to any other page by putting the following code as the only text #redirect [[pagename]] Also, two things that you may want to know.

  1. Your dewikified page is at http://streptomyces.openwetware.org/ This page is automatically stripped from your openwetware pages that are marked by Streptomyces:... it is updated automatically every day, and can be manually refreshed by placing an x after the url (http://streptomyces.openwetware.org/x)
  2. Recent changes can be customized to be specifically for streptomyces by going to the following page: http://openwetware.org/wiki/Special:Recentchanges/Streptomyces
