Current methods of insulin administration
Syringe / Prefilled insulin pens
- Continuous administration required
- Manual calculation of dosage
- Need to carry vials and needles
Insulin pumps
- Needs battery for operation
- Need to manually adjust level when exercising
- Soft needle inserted under skin – replace every 2 days
Inhalers
- Currently under testing – No FDA approval
- Still need to manually adjust dosage

- Does not need frequent replacing
