I feel that this is a powerful and underestimated technology. With the expected decrease in the cost of synthesis for oligonucleotides, I wouldn't be surprised if this method replaces the use of restriction endonucleases and ligases for the creation of recombinant DNA molecules. To me, recombineering seems both simpler and more desirable, since it is seamless. -Devin Camenares
