Objective To create PPF with guanine and adenine Bench Work using PPF-20 from Elaine 7/13/2012 - two vials: added 750 mL DEF (diethyl formamide) and 250 mL ethanol to each. added 8 mg of guanine to one and added 12 mg of adenine to the other. left over night Notes the adenine did not all dissolve making the solution cloudy, white and opaque. the guanine appeared to all dissolve. the next morning the solutions where both purple which is likely due to the PPF dissolving due to the ehtanol therefore there is free zinc-porphyrin in the solution.
