  • The FMNH2(reduced)-luciferase association constant is 3x10-4M-1 at room temperature an is significantly different from the kinetic reciprocal Michaelis-Menten constant.(1)
  • Bacterial bioluminescence involves three substrates: FMNH2, RCHO and O2. It produces: FMN, H2O2 and COOH.
  • A simple Michaelis-Menten model does not describe the transient kinetics of the oxidation of FMNH2 on the luciferase.
