## Objective

• Analyze the concentration of nanoparticles in the AuNP colloid.
• Calculate the concentration of nanoparticle within a fiber

## Description

• Analysis of the AuNP colloid
1. Samples were run through the UV-Vis
• Nanoparticle Concentration Determination
1. "The Determination of Size and Concentration of Au Nanoparticles from UV-Vis Spectra" by Wolfgang Haiss was read
2. Absorbance at 450nm and 529nm were observed
3. The ratio of the absorbance at 529nm to 450nm is taken and looked up on a chart to get the diameter of the nanoparticle
4. Using the chart, the diameter of the nanoparticle shows us the molar absorptivity
5. Finally, we used the equation c=(absorbance450)/ε
