Objective

  • Dry samples JCS 11 and JCS 12 via rotovap

Protocol

The samples were dried using a water bath set to 40°C with the rotovap, as JCS 4 and JCS 5 were. In the beginning, bumping is a concern, but this tendency dissipates as the evaporation progresses.

Observations

These samples seemed to have more resulting dark precipitate than JCS 4 and JCS 5. This may be due to the extended reaction time and extended time sitting before evaporation.
