Poisson Distribution Lab 10/3/08The lab procedure is located on Pages 59-60 of this PDF file. Setting the MCA software to internal sync, presets on, I collect data for one (1) pass on 1024 channels (as opposed to the recommended 256, in order to get more data) for each specific dwell time that I determine. I use the software to collect the data for the number of incident pulses (and therefore the number of events detected by the PMT) for a single pass each at dwell times of 10ms, 20 ms, 40 ms, 80 ms, 100 ms, 200 ms, 400 ms, 800 ms, 1 s, and 2 s. | |
