November 20, 2013 Procedures Do calculations and prepare samples with DNA and AuNPs Run absorption measurements of those samples Data Notes Increased fluoresence, though small, was observed for samples containing ZnPPIX, both 8 and 4 repeat DNA, and AuNPs. I need to increase the concentration of ZnPPIX in the solutions containing the 8 repeat DNA, which will hopefully result in further increased fluoresence due to the formation of twice the amount of G-quadruplexes compared to the 4 repeat DNA. I'm not quite sure why the ZnPPIX, ZnPPIX/4-DNA, and ZnPPIX/8-DNA samples' fluoresence did not quite reach the baseline that the ZnPPIX/x-DNA/AuNPs samples did.
