Objective Synthesize the Neodymium Nitrate variant of the Desired POM. Protocol Added 1.6090 of Potassium precursor to 40 mL of DI water. Added 0.8782 g of Neodymium Nitrate hexahydrate to 20 mL of DI water. Combined the two solutions above and adjusted the PH to 3.5 using 1 M NaOH. Refluxed for 2 hours at 80 °C Cooled solution to room temperature Left solution mixing overnight Observations Initial solutions were clear and colorless, but upon mixing, a white precipitate formed and the solution became cloudy with (what is likely) suspended solid.
