Objective To repeat the experiment performed on 11/15/11. Description Make two solutions of AuNP. Solution 1 (aqueous AuNP): Combine 0.516 mL of 30 μM BSA and 0.350 mL of 4.17 mM HAuCl4 in a test tube. Place in 80°C oven until solution turns purple (about 1.5 hours). Solution 2 (AuNP/BSA fibers): Combine 0.516 mL of 30 μM BSA and 0.700 mL of 4.17 mM HAuCl4 in a test tube. Place in 80°C oven for 3.5 hr. Remove 1 mL of solution 1, place remainder back in oven. Take UV vis data. Add 100 μL 50.1 mM tris buffer (pH 10.1). Repeat steps 3 and 4 two more times. After 1.5 hr, remove solution 1 from oven again. Take UV vis data. Add 100 μL 50.1 mM tris buffer (pH 10.1). Repeat steps 7 and 8 two more times. Data Purple fibers formed after about 1 hour. The purple solution was first removed for testing after about 1.5 hours. The solution was returned for another 1.5 hours, then tested again using UV-Vis and the Tris buffer.
