Objective

To test ratios of Au/BSA of about 166 and 70.

Description

  • Create solutions for ratio of 166 Au:BSA
    1. Using 17.2 μM BSA stock solution and 2.9 mM HAuCl4 stock solution, combine 1 mL gold solution and 1.02 mL BSA solution.
    2. Dilute with water up to 9 mL.
    3. Repeat to make a second solution.
    4. Cover with tin foil.
  • Create solutions for ratio of 70 Au: BSA
    1. Using the same stock solutions, combine 1 mL gold solution and 2.41 mL BSA solution.
    2. Dilute with water up to 9 mL.
    3. Repeat to make a second solution.
    4. Cover with tin foil.
  • Put all solutions into the oven at about 72°C.
  • Leave one of each ratio concentration in for the duration of lab (about 3 hours).
  • Take one of each ratio concentration out for 10 minutes every half hour for 3 hours.
