Engineering Cell-Cycle Reporters

  • Lots of things goes up and down in the cell during each cell-cycle: the number of genome copies, the level of cell-cycle signaling, cell volumes, etc. Possibly, we could couple signal to the memory machine in order to count the number of cell cycle and use it to study cell aging or control cell division.
  • Here we present several ideas about how to read off the cell cycle using the cycle of these chemical components.

What goes up and down in each cell cycle?

  • The number of genome copies
  • The activities of ...

Possible schemes for engineering cell-cycle reporters

  • The change in gene expression level due to the change of genome copy number.
