Goal
2.5mM HAuCl4 into 50mL flask
Calculations
0.05L x 2.5x10-3M = 1.25x10-4moles
HAuCl4 = 339.785g/mol
339.785g/mol : 1.25x10-4moles = 0.04247g = 42.47mg of HAuCl4


  • Preparation of 3 different amino acid solutions with the same concentration as BSA (250 μM):
Choice of amino acids Allopathic - Isoleucine; Aromatic - Phenylalanine; Amine - Arginine
Isoleucine Calculations: 0.05L x 250x10-6M = 1.25x10-5moles
Molar mass of Isoleucine: 131.18g/mol
131.18g/mol x 1.25x10-5M = 0.001639grams
Phenylalanine Calculations: 0.05L x 250x10-6M = 1.25x10-5moles
Molar mass of Phenylalanine: 165.19g/mol
165.19g/mol x 1.25x10-5M = 0.002065grams
Arginine Calculations: 0.05L x 250x10-6M = 1.25x10-5moles
Molar mass of Arginine: 174.20g/mol
174.20g/mol x 1.25x10-5M = 0.0021775grams
