Objective

Run AuNP synthesis reactions with different Au/BSA ratios and concentration to investigate the conditions of fiber formation.

Description

The following reactions were run:

Place three test tubes in a water bath at 80°C

test tube 1: 50μL BSA + 50μL HAuCl4 + 900μL H2O

test tube 2: 50μL HAuCl4 + 100μL BSA + 850μL H2O

test tube 3: 80μL BSA + 80μL HAuCl4 + 640μL H2O

After two hours let water bath cool overnight

Place three test tubes in heat block at 80°C

test tube 1: 50μL BSA + 50μL HAuCl4 + 900μL H2O

test tube 2: 50μL HAuCl4 + 100μL BSA + 850μL H2O

test tube 3: 80μL BSA + 80μL HAuCl4 + 640μL H2O

Place test tube (80μL BSA + 80μL HAuCl4 + 640μL H2O) in thermocycler

run at 80°C for two hours then decrease 2°C every 2 min until the sample reaches room temperature

Run microwave reaction with 400μL BSA + 400μL HAuCl4 and water to the top (about 8 mL) at 300 W at 80°C for 30 min
