Key Dates & Deadlines

  • April 8 - Application deadline (5pm on Sunday)
  • April 7-9 - Undergrad interviews
  • April 12 - UROP funding deadline
  • May 26 - Teach the teachers workshop
  • June 4 - Team starts in the lab!
  • November 3-4 - iGEM competition Jamboree

iGEM is the international genetically engineered machines competition. The objective of the competition is to design and build an engineered biological system using DNA. Systems will be constructed from standard biological parts. Although iGEM originated at MIT, this year, there are around 40 schools participating from around the world (see map).
