A complete cure for cancer has not been established yet. Then, we are trying to create Polymeric and Liposomal Cell (PoLICe), which moves by itself and attacks cancer cells independently of our natural immune system, as a new approach to cancer. When receiving a signal molecule, PoLICe gets activated, causing a polymerization of monomers in it. Consequently, PoLICe migrates and starts patrolling our body to find cancer markers. As recognizing cancer cells, PoLICe kills them. PoLICe is different from drug delivery system in that PoLICe can move by its internal force. In order to realize this mechanism, we designed by DNA origami the Receptor, which receives an outside signal molecule and causes signal transduction into PoLICe, and Motor-Monomer, which polymerizes according to a signal from the Receptor. Our purpose is to create an artificial cell which starts migrating depending on a signal molecule.
