Scholars,

Two Matlab functions – gaussfit and plotgaussfit – will be of extreme utility in estimating the resolution of your microscope from the PSD slide. The m-files for these functions have been placed in the fluorescence microscopy lab folder. Documentation is available at: [1].

The best approach might be to fit several objects and take an average. Please report the uncertainty in your estimate.
