At the moment it is still a bit unclear what the exact role for me as a bioinformatics student would be but I think that the following competences could be handy within our project.

• Searching for information in online biological databases (e.g. searching for genes, searching for metabolic pathways with certain functions)
• Mathematical modeling - not a core competence, but I have some experience with it.
• Numerical simulation (matlab)
• Image analysis (e.g. analysing images made with a microscope)
• Writing software (when needed)
• All the computer nerd stuff: wiki, registration of standard biological parts, ...
