Guidelines for New Members
Orientation
- Regsitration and Keys: Contact Group Administrator and go to the School of Graduate Studies
- Internet and Printer Access: see Lab Workgroup Setup
- Lab coat, goggles, notebook, and stationeries: You can order these items from UofT Medstore. Ask the Webmaster or a fellow lab member for the user ID and password. You should then collect your items from MedStore Office

Safety training
- Go to EHS Training Home and register for the next available LABORATORY CHEMICAL SAFETY TRAINING course. You must attend also two other courses " Laboratory Biosafety Training" and "Blood-borne Pathogens Training". To regsiter for these courses go to EHS Training Home

Read SOPs and ask a senior lab member for help. For the location of the equipment and persons in charge see here.

Computer-Software-Data
- Software
- The following software packages are frequently used in the lab. Ask the Webmaster if you need more information.
- EpsilonEC
- The following software packages are frequently used in the lab. Ask the Webmaster if you need more information.
- Data
- Backup your data FREQUENTLY. You may want to use Subversion for managing your backup data.
- Put a copy of your presentations in the Data Server (\\142.150.146.237\sokgroup) inside the folder Group Presentations.
- Lab notebooks are the property of the lab and must stay in the lab.
- Keep a neat and detailed notebook.
- Every report should have a title and date.
- Note all your observations in the notebook, even if the results do not look right.
- All abbreviations along with their full names should be included at the end of the notebook.
