Objective
- Synthesis of PPF18 and PPF20
- exchange PPf18 with adenine and guanine
- make a stock solution of 1M HNO3 in ethanol
Bench Work
exchanging PPF-18 with guanine and adenine
synthesizing PPF-18 and PPF-20
- Added zinc nitrate hexahydrate, DPNI and TCPP to four vials.
- insert chart with weights here
- added 1.75 mL of leftover 75% DEF/25% EtOH to vials 1-3, 1 mL in vial 4
- made a fresh solution of 75% DEF/25% EtOH and added 1mL to vial 4
- added 250 μL of pure ethanol to vials 1-3
- made a 10 mL solution of 1 M nitric acid in ethanol
- 10 mL * 1 M = x mL * 15. 8M --> x= 1.58 mL conc nitric acid
- --> added 1.58 mL of conc nitric acid to 8.46 mL of ethanol
- added 100 μL of 1M HNO3 in EtOH to vials 1&2 and 80 μL to vials 3&4
- sonciated vials and placed in oven at 3pm
- programmed to heat at 80 °C for 24 hrs then cool to 0 °C (20 °Croom temp) over 9 hrs
