Fluorophore

  1. Combine 2 mg of 5-iodoacetamido fluorescein (5-IAF) with 3× excess cysteine (0.39 mg) in 3.95 mL of 50 mM Tris buffer (pH 7.5).
  2. Wrap reaction tube in foil and allow reaction to proceed for 2 hr.
