This is the top level page for protocols, data, and unknowns related to cell free systems such as cell extracts (TXTL) and PURE systems in the Build-A-Cell project. This work builds off previous work establishing that TX-TL is a functional biomolecular breadboard, useful for prototyping synthetic biological circuits at the gene level.
In particular, we aim to establish a set of best-practice protocols for preparing extracts / pure systems, optimal conditions to run these systems in (which may be goal dependent), and a shared data repository of successful and unsuccessful experiments that have been tried in order to minimize redundant research.
