Entry Author: Ely Shapiro Entry Category: Response to Andrew's/Parnika's posts Entry: I agree with Andrew--perhaps for a different reason. I think we would want the raft-like form to maximize the surface area of the microtubules. This would keep the bacteria on the microtubules, and it would be likely to pick up particles that it was attracted to along the way. I also think you would get more "bang for your buck" this way, because more of the microtubules would be able to be exposed to wherever we're trying to direct the energy.
