Laser tweezers

Andy Maloney 03:33, 12 June 2009 (EDT): KochLab now has it's own 690 nm laser tweezers! Thanks Larry for suggesting the visible laser tweezer technology. And thanks to both Larry and Anthony for helping me build the knowledge to make this thing. I never would have been able to get it done without ya'lls experience with making the green one. By the way, don't touch anything on the table.

Steve Koch 11:54, 12 June 2009 (EDT): Awesome!

1st on Google

  • Ramalldf 02:28, 29 May 2009 (EDT):I just noticed that the Koch lab OWW page finally surpassed the Caltech Koch lab when you google 'koch lab'! I know that's not the biggest milestone, but I'm tired on working on this proposal and I'm bored!
    • Steve Koch 02:36, 29 May 2009 (EDT): Woo-hoo! Wait...are we in a feud??? Sorry I haven't been able to provide feedback on your proposal...I have checked some of it out and very impressed at it!
  • Ramalldf 04:12, 31 May 2009 (EDT):Oh no worries, I've got lots of notes on the wiki but didn't actually post the draft online cause it was such a piece of crap. I'll post a more polished version either tomorrow night or the night after though. Feedback would be more welcome then. Anyways, another student in Zev's class accurately described the peer review sessions as "roasts". The funny part about mine was that we were talking about helicases and how certain geometries for single molecule experiments can actually help the helicases separate the strands. Zev was like "Yeah, Diego's done some DNA unzipping, right?". I said "yeaaaahhhhh...." and then he asked me to draw the anchor, adapter, hairpin setup, which I naturally...drew wrong the first time. Oh well :D

KochLab Unite

Anthony Salvagno 12:47, 13 May 2009 (EDT): For information pertaining to the KochLab symposium (1st ever) please see here.

DNA Tethers

Anthony Salvagno 22:08, 7 May 2009 (EDT): Today I achieved successful DNA ligations of random genomic fragments of Saccharomyces cerevisiae DNA. We now have the ability to tether random genomic fragments! Steve Koch 00:44, 8 May 2009 (EDT): Awesome!

5/2/09: I miss the Lab News Page

Ramalldf 02:02, 3 May 2009 (EDT):So I'm trying to see if I can just copy and paste the template here. Feel free to delete it if it doesn't work or its just not your style. Ramalldf 02:09, 3 May 2009 (EDT):One thing that I wanted to post about was the fact that after playing around with templates trying to set up the Dunn lab wiki, I stumbled upon this really great main menu template. One thing that I didn't like about the public wiki was the fact that the side bar on the left was shared by all OWW users and thus, you couldn't have as many links available to surf your own site on OWW. Anyways, this template totally makes up for it and is very cool-looking as well, just thought I'd let you guys know!
