Silver: Dropout Plates

Dropout Plates (per 1L)

• In 500 mL bottle:
  • 6.7g yeast nitro base
  • 2.0g dropout powder
  • 200 mL H₂O
• In 2L flask:
  • 20g agar
  • 700mL H₂O
• Autoclave both, and also autoclave a stir bar in a separate beaker
• Add 100 mL 20% glucose to the 500 mL bottle.
• Add the autoclaved stir bar to the 2L flask.
• Let cool, add contents of bottle to flask.
• Stir until cool to the touch.
• Pour plates.
