Biologist at the computer

I assisted in the morning to the Countway Library at HMS. The purpose was to participate in a short course on computing for biology oriented task. The course was divided in several parts and the firt one concerned the verification of my account in Orchestra (orchestra.med.harvard.edu) -in fact I linked to Orchestra using a terminal in Mac OS X, just writing ssh jm195@orchestra.med.harvard.edu, jm195 (in capital letters) is my eCommons ID (and then introducing my password, which is the eCommons one)-. As an alternative it is also possible to use the Fungu application (which gives a GUI to ssh, in Mac OS X). There exist a similar application for Windows based systems.
