Lyophilizing Mb

Lyophilizing Mb samples for studies in organic solvents

  1. pH 3
    1. 0.0115g Mb
    2. 0.2005g D-sorbitol
    3. 0.110g (1450MW) PEG
    4. 10mL 10mM citrate pH 3
  2. pH 5
    1. 0.0110g Mb
    2. 0.1946g D-sorbitol
    3. 0.100g (1450MW) PEG
    4. 10mL 10mM acetate pH 5
  3. pH 7
    1. 0.020g Mb
    2. 0.1998g D-sorbitol
    3. 0.1085g (1450MW) PEG
    4. 10mL 10mM phosphate pH 7
  4. pH 9
    1. 0.0118g Mb
    2. 0.1847g D-sorbitol
    3. 0.106g (1450MW) PEG
    4. 10mL 10mM tris pH 9
  5. Take these samples and freeze them in liquid nitrogen.
    1. All samples are reddish brown except for the acetate, which has a greenish color.
