I work in the Laboratory for Bacterial Pathogenesis and Evolution at University of Edinburgh. I learned about OpenWetWare from a post on a science blog, and I've joined because I would like to interact with people sharing common interests in bioinformatics and genomics.

My current work is focused on studying the genome evolution of staphylococcal species using bioinformatic and proteomic approaches to understand pathogenesis mechanisms. I am also involved in several other microbial genome projects for which my role is to provide expertise on genome assembly, genome annotation and comparative genomics aspects.
