Entry title

  • Swelling of beads using vacuum filtration
  • UV Vis 40 % clean, 50 % beads

Beads preparation

procedure: make bentonite solution: at least 100 ml HCl : at least 75 mL concentrated HCL (double check)

use Dominque's table.

heat until dissolved (75 C) while stirring for 45 minutes.

add 5 ml dropwise to 30 ml ethylacetate stirring at 320 rpm.

after last drop, wait 3 minutes and add 0.5 ml glutaraldehyde. stir at 340 rpm for 7 minutes.

add sodium bicarbonate. stir for 30 seconds at 340 rpm.

add glutaraldehyde and stir for 3 minutes.
