Making more beads

  • We try to re-swell the beads. They soaked in water over two days, but remain coalescent.
  • We try ultrasonic vibration to loosen them up.
  • We decide to make new beads in any case. We triple the procedure used last time [see Dominique's notebook]
    - we started with 10% clay beads
  • We UV-Vis the cabbage dye at different pH. At pH 1, the dye is bright red and absorbs at a wavelength of 510 nm.

UV vis software: use right click > cross hair > display to find exact wavelength and intensity of absorbance
