Week 1 Feedback

  • Thank you for submitting your assignment on time.
  • All of the requested items were found on your user page except for what is noted below. You have the opportunity to go back and fix these items to earn back points that you lost on the assignment. The changes will be due at midnight February 7, when the Week 3 assignment is due.
    • Please create a link to your e-mail address (see some of the other student pages for how to do this).
    • Please provide a snail mail address. It could be to the Biology Department if you don't have a campus mailbox.
    • Please ask a question of Dr. Fitzpatrick in his user talk page.
    • You did not have a link to an internal wiki page because you did not invoke your template on your page. The way to invoke your template is to use curly braces to surround the template name, such as {{template name}}.
    • You didn't need a separate week 1 journal page for this week. It would have been OK to just put your contribution to the shared class journal on the class page only.
    • You can make the link to the file you uploaded prettier by adding a label.
    • Check out some of your classmates pages for ideas on how to format the image. You can also look up wiki help on wikipedia.
    • The Acknowledgments and References section should have been on your User page, not on the shared page. I may have misunderstood the questions in class. Please move it to your user page.
    • Format the reference to the Week 1 Assignment using the APA format for a webpage.
    • You wrote something in the summary field 52% of the time. We are aiming for 100%.
  • I like how you commented on your classmates' postings in the shared journal!

Week 2 Feedback

  • Thank you for submitting your assignment on time.
  • You will be receiving a hard copy of your individual journal with corrections.
  • You had all of the requested links on your User and individual journal pages.
  • You wrote something in the summary field 100% of the time, excellent work! You made 11 edits to the page, which is the minimum I would have expected. When we solve your issues with editing the wiki, you should probably save more often.
  • Don't forget to add your wiki signature to your Acknowledgments statement.

Troubleshooting Wiki Editing

If I don't have a chance to talk to you in class, here are some questions and suggestions to try.

  1. Is this happening on your own computer, on the lab computers, or both?
  2. Try closing out of all of your browsers and re-starting the computer. This will clear out any old data that might be interfering with things.
  3. Try a couple different browsers to see if that makes any difference.

Let me know if this changes anything. If it doesn't, I will look at it some more later today.
