Week 7 Journal Feedback

  • Your definitions and outline were complete, but submitted after the deadline. In the future, please make sure that you begin the assignment with enough time to submit it before the deadline.
  • A complete citation for a URL includes the date accessed. Make sure you include this in the future.

Week 6 Journal Feedback

  • Thank you for completing your assignment on time.
  • DNA glycosylase is actually a tertiary structure because it only has one polypeptide chain. You might consider that because it binds to DNA, it could be a quaternary structure, but based on the protein part, it is a tertiary structure.

Week 5 Journal Feedback

  • This week's journal narrative was exemplary, although some portions of it were submitted after the deadline. Some minor suggestions for improvement:
    • Even though you did not use your min/max calculations, you could have included them in your electronic notebook. This is the place for all of your work, not just your finished, polished work.
    • Please be sure to link to your PowerPoint presentation from this page.
    • Your link to your article was to PubMedCentral, which is a secondary repository for research articles. You should seek out the availability of articles from the actual journal web site to get the real published version.
  • Keep up the good work!

Week 4 Journal Feedback

  • Thank you for submitting your assignment on time with all questions answered.
  • I see that you've gone back to add your template to that page. That's good. The last thing you need to add to your template is the actual assignment pages, e.g. Week 4 Assignment. If you add all of theses links to your template, then you will be complete with all the links you need.

Journal Club 1 Outline and Presentation Feedback

  • Thank you for completing this assignment on time.
  • Your definitions were complete and cited properly.
  • For the sections of the paper you outlined, you provided sufficient detail. However, you needed to answer all the questions; specifically, you need to describe each of the figures and tables. You also need to outline the discussion.
  • You were prepared to discuss your figure/table in class.

Week 3 Journal Feedback

  • Thank you for completing your assignment on time.
  • To further improve your journals, you should include enough detail so that your procedure could be followed by someone else just be looking at your page. For example, you could link to the instructions for the activity, link to any pages or files that you use, and give the exact equations you used when doing your calculations for theta.
  • You also need to maintain a set of links to ease navigation of your pages. You should add the following to your template and then use your template on all of your assignment pages and on your user page:
    • The category "BIOL368/F11".
    • Links to all of the Assignment pages.
    • Links to all of the Class journal pages.
    • Links to all of your individual journal pages.
  • I will give feedback on your journal club outline and presentation separately.

Week 2 Journal Feedback

  • Thank you for completing your assignment on time.
  • You need to make sure that you include all the links asked for in the journal assignment. From your journal page you need to:
    • link back to your user page
    • link to the assignment page
    • add the "BIOL368/F11" category to the page.
    • If you add all of these things to your templage and then use your template on your journal page, it will automatically be taken care of. You should be sure to do this on assignments going forward.
  • You had good detailed results. For the future, you do not need to have a separate methods section, instead you could organize your narrative into methods-results, methods-results, methods-results...
  • Your conclsion did answer all of the questions in detail, but it would have been easier to read if it had been bulleted out some more (again, a suggestion for the future.).

Hello, Nicolette S. Harmon! This is a welcome message from OpenWetWare. By the way, we've announced you on the home page! You can leave messages to any OWW member by editing their User_talk pages like this one. And don't forget to personalize your User Page so that we can get to know you better! We've included some tips below to get you started.

Personal/Lab Info

We have gone ahead and filled in some information you provided us in your membership application on your User Page. Please take a moment to embellish this and tell the community a little more about you. Put links to your lab pages, your projects and your interests. If you run out of ideas, take a look at some of the other User pages. For example, check out User:Julius_B._Lucks, User:Jason_R._Kelly and User:Reshma_P._Shetty.

You'll also notice that we have put an 'image' placeholder at the top of your User Page. We encourage you to upload an image of yourself to give OWW a more personal feel. To upload an image, click on the Upload file link on the left-hand side (toolbar). Choose a file from your computer, and remember the file name. After you have uploaded the image, you should see it loaded on its own page. Go back to your User Page, click on edit, and replace 'OWWEmblem.png' with the name of your file that you have uploaded in the second line of this page.
