LB medium (liquid)

  • For every 1 L of medium, add to a pyrex bottle or flask:
    • 10 g NaCl
    • 10 g bacto-tryptone
    • 5 g yeast extract
  • Add 1 L of deionized water (blue tap of the Millipore machine).
  • Autoclave (if using a bottle, do not close the cap completely).
  • Let it cool to about 40degC and, when required, add antibiotic near the flame.
  • Store in the fridge and always check for contaminations before using.

LB medium (solid)

  • For every 1 L of medium, add to a pyrex bottle or flask:

    • 15 g of agar
