Objective

  • Finished film synthesis from 09/19
  • Made two new films using ion-exchanged clay
  • Run AA on arsenic samples

  1. Finished film synthesis from 09/19
    1. Synthesis procedure can be viewed here.
  2. Made two new films using ion-exchanged clay
    1. Film synthesis can be viewed here.
    2. We used our exchanged clay and Melvin's group's exchanged clay
      1. Our ion exchange was with tributylhexadecylphosphonium bromide
      2. Melvin's exchanged with (1-hexadecyl)triphenylphosphonium bromide.

  • Ion-Exchanged Films
    • Film 1: 1.00888g PVA + 0.1163g TBHD Clay
    • Film 2: 1.00123g PVA + 0.11024 other ion exchanged clay
