Human DNA extraction and Amplification Today we used the Qiagen Kit to extract DNA from our cheek cells and hair follicles. We then amplified a section of the DNA (the ALU repeat portion referred to in other journals) using a PCR protocol and materials taken from the kit. In preparation for adding this DNA section to pBluescript we also digested a sample of that vector. Next time we will verify the results of this lab using electro-phoresis.
